Gold is a resource primarily generated by Smelters. Gold is necessary for making all trades. It is also used in some buildings, such as Temples.
- Initial storage capacity is 10.
- After you research Agriculture, you can build Barns, which each increase storage by 10.
- After you research Construction, you can build Warehouses, which each increase storage by 5.
- After you research Navigation, you can build Harbours, which each increase storage by 25.
- The Expanded Cargo upgrade gives a 1% bonus to the Harbour capacity for each Trade Ship you build. This effect has diminishing returns, up to a limit of 225%.
- After you research Architecture, you can build Mints, which each increase storage by 100.
- The amount of gold you can store in a Mint is affected by the warehouse line of upgrades (starting with Reinforced Warehouses), but not affected by the barn line of upgrade (starting with Expanded Barns)
- ("goldMax": 100 * (1 + game.workshop.getEffect("warehouseRatio")))
- Mints that are not active (turned off) still increase gold storage, so you can build Mints to increase your gold storage while avoiding the Mints' resource consumption.
- After you research Particle Physics, you can build Accelerators. After researching Dimensional Physics you can research the Energy Rifts upgrade, which allow Accelerators to each increase storage by 250.
- After progressing enough through the unicorn religion, you can build Sky Palaces, which increase gold storage by 1% each.
- After completing the Helios space mission, you can build Sunforges, which increase gold storage by 1% each.
