Zebras are a Trade race, but they are also a resource in Iron Will (IW) mode. This article is about the resource.
Zebras are randomly acquired after researching Archery in IW and serve as hunters.
Zebras will produce catpower for you during IW, but they do this at diminishing returns. When you have 10 or more zebras, it is possible to get bloodstone from hunting.
There is a limit to how many zebras you can have. On your first IW run this limit will be 1 zebra. By researching Archery and then resetting into IW again, your limit will be increased by 1, up to a maximum of 10.
You may also gain an additional bonus to your zebra limit based on how much science you've spent. For each 10k science spend on technologies, you will get a +1 to your limit, up to a maximum of +100 per run. This science bonus can be earned again and again on successive runs.
By default, leaving IW mode without resetting the current run (usually caused by buying housing buildings) causes all zebras to leave. If you have the metaphysics upgrade Zebra Diplomacy, 10% of your zebras stay with you after IW ends. With Zebra Covenant, this amount is increased to 50%.
