The Time tab is unlocked by researching Calendar.
Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so.
Whenever there is a long pause (at least 3 seconds) between game ticks (from the game being closed, paused, or just bad lag) the redshift effect will occur. This will give you bonus production (similar to "offline progression" in other games) based on how long the pause was (1 day per 2 seconds the pause lasted), and is shown in the log by the message "You have regained X days of production and Y astronomical events."
Redshift can be enabled and disabled by selecting the offline progression in the settings.
At first you can only gain up to 10 kitten years worth of resources due to redshift, but if you have at least 1000 years on the calendar or more than 0 regular paragon this limit is increased to 40 kitten years, or 16000 days or 8.88 hours.
Used for various time-related experiments. Is earned while game is not active/running at a rate of 5 units of flux per minute away. Kittens Game must either be closed or paused in order to earn it. Chronospheres can also be upgraded to produce a small amount yearly.
Cost | Temporal flux | 1 |
Effects | Accelerate time and gain resources faster, at the cost of 5 temporal flux per second while activated. Increases tick rate (production) by 50% and increases calendar time speed by 50%. Does not affect resource retrieval. |
Main Article: Reset
These things are unlocked by the Chronoforge workshop upgrade. None of the chronoforge upgrades will carry over on reset, they are all lost.
Cost | Time Crystals | 1 |
Effects | Destroys a time crystal and releases its temporal energies, causing a time skip to next spring, and creating 10 units of chronoheat. Every 1 unit of chronoheat over your chronoheat limit will increase Time Crystal shattering price by 1%. |
Note: in 1.4.0.7 you needed to have at least 25 alicorns to make this button visible, but in 1.4.0.8 this got changed back to having at least 1 time crystal.
Cost | Time Crystals | 5 |
Price Ratio | 1.25 | |
Effects | Improves your temporal flux capacity by 25% |
Cost | Time Crystals | 25 |
Relic | 5 | |
Price Ratio | 1.25 | |
Description | Increases the maximum chronoheat limit by 100. Automatically converts chronoheat into chrono furnace fuel. When fuel level reaches 100% it will be consumed to cause a time skip. |
|
Effects | Chronoheat Max: +100, Chronoheat Per Tick: -0.02 |
Note: Automation can be toggled off to store fuel and delay time skips.
When automation is toggled on, 500% fuel will be spent on time skips each tick.
Cost | Time Crystals | 25,000 |
Price Ratio | 1.25 | |
Description | Expands the heat capacity of Chrono Furnaces.
Effects | Max heat expansion: 10, Energy consumption: 1Wt |
Note: For each existing Time Boiler, energy cost of a new Time Boiler increases by 2 and heat expansion increases by 20. The net result is an energy cost of (Time Boilers)^2 and a heat expansion of 10*(Time Boilers)^2.
Cost | Time Crystals | 10 |
Relic | 1000 | |
Price Ratio | 1.25 | |
Description | Improves time-related effects by 5% Automation decreases shatter lag
Effects | Time-Related Bonus: 5% (Improves Chronomancy and Unicornmancy by 1.25% and Time Impedance by 5%) increase production of temporal flux from redshift by 5% with automation activated, reduces the length of lag caused by smashing time crystals |
|
Cost | Time Crystals | 100 |
Relic | 250 | |
Price Ratio | 1.05 | |
Effects | Suppress effect of Dark Future temporal penalty by 1000 years. |
Note: this will only become visible if your calendar year is at least 40,000.
Cost | Time Crystals | 1000 |
Price Ratio | 1.3 | |
Effects | Retrieve 1% per level of your yearly resources when you shatter TC
Prerequisite | Paradox Theory |
Cost | Time Crystals | 100 |
Void | 10 | |
Price Ratio | 1.1 - 0.001×(Number of 1000 Years completions), down to a minimum of 1.01 at 90 completions.
Limit | You can build a maximum of 10 Temporal Presses per 1000 Years Challenge completed.
Description | Allows for fine tuning of shattering
Effects | Allows the shattering of time crystals in different amounts than the standard 1x, 5x, 45x, 500x. On the "Combust Time Crystal" button there will be an option to shatter a number of crystals based on how many Temporal Presses are active. By default this is (5×Number of Temporal Presses) years worth of crystals, but it can be increased to (25×Number of Temporal Presses) years worth of crystals if automation is enabled. |
|
Energy consumption | 5Wt
Prerequisite | 1000 Years Challenge Automation is unlocked by completing the 1000 Years Challenge a second time. Chronosurge |
Note: Temporal Presses cannot be bought during a 1000 Years Challenge even if you have already completed it before.
Unlocked by the Void Space technology.
The only void space structures that are carried over on a reset are cryochambers (in the form of used cryochambers), the rest is lost on reset.
Cost | Time Crystals | 2 |
Void | 100 | |
Karma | 1 | |
Price Ratio | 1.25 | |
Effects | Houses 1 kitten, and lets you carry over 1 kitten each to your next game. Note that you can't build more cryochambers than your current amount of active chronospheres. |
Note: The karma cost can be reduced by burned paragon with diminishing returns up to a maximum of 100%.
Cost | Time Crystals | 100 |
Void | 500 | |
Temporal Flux | 3000 | |
Effects | Repair a used cryochamber, making it as good as new. |
Note: you must have Used Cryochambers and the Chronoforge upgrade for this button to appear.
You can get more Cryochambers than Chronospheres by fixing them (But the number of kittens you bring back is still limited by number of Chronospheres).
Description | Unsealed Cryochamber. Not in operating condition.
Effects | Does nothing in this state. Can be fixed. |
