- CHECKED IN - Feature is checked into the GIT source repository (https://bitbucket.org/bloodrizer/kitten-game/src/master/) and available to other devs and players who track this stuff
- BETA - Feature is deployed to KG Web Beta - http://kittensgame.com/web/ and will stay there for typically 1-2 weeks, rarely months
- ANNOUNCEMENT - Feature is posted on Reddit/Discord if it is something that require a lot of discussion or additional balance polish. More trivial stuff is usually deployed through a Surprise Stealth Update
4.1 COMPLAINTS - People complain for various reasons
Q: When will the feature be available on Android/iOS?
A: You have just delayed the update cycle by several months
- ML - Feature is deployed to KG Web Mainline - http://bloodrizer.ru/games/kittens - some more bugs are fixed, people complain again, more balance testing is done. This can again take at least several weeks
¶ Android
- KGM ADNROIDANDROID - Feature is merged into KG Mobile branch and rolled out to Google Play store. This process usually requires some internal testing
- KGM A ROLLOUT - Feature is rolled out through phased update in 5-10% increments over the next week
- EVERYTHING IS BROKEN - Feature is usually broken in some horrible way, game crashes on start, saves are broken.
- KGM A SECOND ROLLOUT - The process is repeated a few more times until stuff is stable.
- COMPLIANCE - Apple require some minor compliance updates - payments for last half a year are frozen, devs need to update entire OS to a new major release,
certificates are expired, plugins are broken, iOS API are rewritten from scratch for some new expensive model.
This phase typically takes from several months to several years
- KGM IOS ROLLOUT - similar to steps 5-8.
